Our philosophy embraces the concept of public service and the notion that each person should strive in ways that utilize their unique talents to make a positive difference to the community, whether that community is defined as the general public, our youth, the disadvantaged, the environment, professional groups, civic causes, or other “sub-sets” of the human experience, on a local, regional, or national basis. In furtherance of this objective and throughout her legal career, Cheryl Crandall Tangen has been involved in numerous civic, charitable, and youth-oriented activities.

    • Team Leader — WhistleStop Tour, 2002 and 2004 (a program in which local, statewide, and national legislative and judicial office-seekers were featured to discuss their views and campaign issues)

  • Montgomery County United Way, distribution volunteer

Cheryl has also served as a den leader for Cub Scouts and a committee member with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 777, George Strake District, and has participated, for several years, in local Habitat for Humanity projects.

In Colorado, Cheryl was a founder and charter member of the Alliance of Professional Women (formed to serve as a networking and educational organization for women in (then) traditionally male-dominated professions), chaired a fundraiser for a battered women’s shelter, served on the board of directors of the Colorado Women’s Bar Assn., served as an allocations volunteer for the Mile High United Way, and a mentor in the Junior Achievement program.
